Custom Fine Art Commissions: Preserving What You Love

A beloved pet, a family home, or a fleeting family memory – these are not merely subjects to be painted. They are the anchors of our stories, carrying a depth of connection that words alone cannot capture.

When you commission a custom piece, it is more than just an image on a wall. It is an investment in preserving a piece of your heart. Whether it is the soulful gaze of a devoted pet or a milestone memory, my goal is to capture that unique spirit and bring it to life.

Pricing (2026)

Below is an overview of my pet oil painting pricing with a simple, one or two-color background, no framing.

Detailed background comes at an extra cost: +30%.

Additional pets: +50% per pet (canvas 16″x20″ or larger). Larger sizing is available upon request.

I will start painting after receiving a minimum 50% deposit. You do not need to pay the full amount at once when commissioning an oil painting.

Process

Please review Commission Terms and Conditions before moving forward with commissioning an oil painting.

1. Send me an email directly to: polganistudio(at)gmail.com and provide:

  • Photos and Vision: Please provide your name, your pet’s name, and the reference photo(s) you’d like me to use for your pet’s oil painting. Make sure the images are high-resolution. Pictures are taken at your pet’s eye level with good, natural lighting. If you have a specific vision or certain details you’d like highlighted in the painting, I’d love to hear your ideas.

  • Background: For simple backgrounds, feel free to suggest color preferences; otherwise, I’ll choose tones that best complement your pet. For more detailed backgrounds (e.g., an outdoor setting, sofa, etc.), I can either reference your photo’s setting or create a custom scene.

  • Size: Let me know your desired canvas size.
  • Timeline: If you have a specific deadline in mind, please share it with me upfront. I will check my current studio schedule and confirm if I can accommodate your timeline.

2. Consultation & Deposit

Once the details are discussed and confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot on my commission calendar. I will email you an invoice for the payment. This can be securely paid through PayPal (with PayPal or a credit card)

3. The Painting Phase

I will provide a photo update once the initial “underpainting” is complete. Most of my clients prefer to see their painting only when it’s finished, but if you’d like progress photos, just let me know. Oil paint requires significant drying time between layers, so please allow about 4-6 weeks for completion.

4. Approval & Delivery

Once the painting is finished and dry to the touch, I will send a final photo for review. Minor adjustments are complimentary to ensure you’re fully satisfied; details on major adjustments are in my Policies. After the remaining balance is paid, your painting will be carefully varnished, packed, and shipped via tracked mail.

Please note that no paintings will be shipped until the full balance has been paid.

The painting will be sent unframed. I paint the edges and attach the wire so the painting will arrive ready to hang on the wall. I sign each painting and include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
